Handouts: Understanding and Managing Work Related Anxiety *

Duration: 1 hour Description: Understanding and Managing Work Related Anxiety Lots of people experience work related anxiety when they start a new job or begin an unknown work task. Most new employees can manage work related anxiety through natural coping strategies and self-help resources. Project SEARCH interns do not always have these natural coping strategies in place and might not be able to use self-help resources to manage. We will discuss the difference between normal anxiety and clinical anxiety and explore a psycho-educational workshop that works to develop a shared language around anxiety with interns and Project SEARCH staff, basic management strategies and a means for problem solving interns’ issues relating to normal workplace anxiety.
