LynnAnn Baldwin Tew received her bachelors in history and her masters in nonprofit management. She is the Health & Wellness Coordinator and serves in the research department at the Center of Human Development at the University of Alaska-Anchorage (UAA). She has worked on the Alaska Health Disparities Needs Assessment, serves as an instructor in the Tapestry Transitional program for I/DD at the UAA, and is currently working on a Special Hope Foundation grant to improve healthcare for adults with I/DD. LynnAnn coordinated a pilot research project using the HealthMatters Curriculum with Special Olympics and the UAA School of Nursing in 2014. She has been a competitive alpine skier, runner and triathlete. LynnAnn has worked with the HealthMatters Program team to become an Advanced Certified Instructor for the HealthMatters Program.

Karen Ward, Ed.D., has been the Director of the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Center for Human Development, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities since 1994. She is also the Director of the Alaska’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. Karen has over 35 years of experience as an educator, practitioner, and researcher in the field of disabilities, with numerous published articles.  Her research has focused on violence presentation and healthy relationships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
