Health and Wellness Capacity Building: "Getting the Memo"

The "Getting the Memo" is a 75-minute training that aims to increase the capacity to promote health and wellness of each individual staff member employed in community-based organization serving people with I/DD, as well as the organization itself. Specifically, "Getting the Memo" aims to create a culture supporting health promotion.

Audience
Staff in community-based organizations (CBOs). Workshop space is limited to 20-25 participants.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • 1. Understand the importance of health and wellness for people with I/DD
  • 2. Incorporate health and wellness initiatives for your clients with I/DD
  • 3. Identify local and CBO-specific activities that promote health for people with I/DD

CEUs/CPEUs
One (1) CEU/CPEU is provided for Advance Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LSW, LPC, LCPC), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionists (RD), Nursing Home Administrators, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDP), Speech Language Pathologists, and Illinois Teachers (CPDUs). Add extra $15 per person for CEUs.
